Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American screen and stage actress who is best known for her film roles in Ray Undercover Brother and on the TV show The Mentalist. She has an BA in African-American Studies from Brown University and an MFA in acting from the Tisch School of the Arts New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer who is active in film, theater, and TV. Aunjanue L. Ellis started her acting career in theatre. Then, she appeared in television programs along with independent and mainstream film. Her most well-known roles were as Miranda Shaw (ABC's Quantico) as well as on BET's massive The Book of Negroes. The series both received praise from critics, and she also received a number of accolades. In 1995, she made her debut in the role of Ariel on stage in The Tempest. She's appeared as a character on Broadway with roles in Come and Gone, A Winter's Tale, Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis. With regards to her work in the film industry the most recognizable roles she has played include Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express The Help. On television her regular role in ABC's police drama series High Incident has earned her the praise of her fellow actors.
