
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player plays as a striker in the San Diego Wave FC (NWSL), which is the highest level of women's soccer in United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 to 2020 alongside Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. After graduating in the early years of the University of California, Berkeley, where she played for the California Golden Bears, Morgan was selected as the top pick in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. In the team, she made her debut as a professional and assisted the team in winning the league championship. Morgan, who was 22 at the time, was the youngest player in the national team at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, where the team was runner-up. At the 2012 London Olympics Morgan scored the match-winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final against Canada. She was second in the United States to score 20 assists and 28 goals for the year 2012, which made her the sixth and youngest prolific player in the nation to score 20 goals in one year. She was then named U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of Year and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and 2019. Morgan was selected on both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
